Akamatsu Creative was started around 2015 as a branding umbrella for music production works by writer/producer James W Henry (previously “Jacob James Henry”). Having recorded and produced original music singles for websites like Broadjam and Mp3.com in the early 2000s, James began writing, producing, and collaborating on demos and other works for other artists out of his Japan-based studio.
Subsequently, he also began being hired for audio editing, post-production, and narration work for clients such as Docomo Japan, FM 802 (Major Japan Radio station), Babyphonics, Konami, Dragonbeard Shoes, and numerous talent and advertisement agencies.
Around 2016, James’ growing recognition as a screenwriter through screenplay contest awards led to him expanding the idea of Akamatsu Creative beyond original music and audio production to filmmaking. The audio recording foundations f earlier work lead to sound design and mixing work on such projects as 2020’s independent film “Matcha and Vanilla.”
In 2021. Akamatsu Creative Productions was established as a U.S.-based LLC in the multimedia entertainment industry and looks to partner with artists and companies to bring powerful art and storytelling to life through global collaboration and a true love of artistry, no matter the medium, country, or region of origin.
